Marisol Casado, a Nemzetközi Triatlon Szövetség (ITU) elnöke, a következokrol tájékoztatta a nemzeti szövetségeket, így az MTSZ-t is:
Az ITU és az Ironman márkát képviselo World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) között létrejött együttmoködési nyilatkozat szerint, az ITU és a WTC 3 fo területre kidolgozott együttmoködési megállapodást készít elo, mely 2018-tól lép életbe.
1. Az ITU ernyoje alatt folynak a WTC versenyek dopping ellenorzései, a WADA eloírásai alapján.
2. Az ITU versenyrendezési sztenderdje alapján elkezdodik a két szervezet versenyszabályzatának összehangolása.
3. Az ITU tagszervezetei, a nemzeti szövetségek, bevonásával rendezhessenek az egyes tagországokban Ironman versenyeket, melynek a keretmegállapodási sztenderdjét idén kidolgozzuk.
A Magyar Triatlon Szövetség számára örömteli bejelentés megerosítette a Magyar Triatlon Szövetség elnökséget abban, hogy a tavalyi egész éves küzdelem egyik eredménye egy sportdiplomáciai eszközökkel is elért egyértelmo helyzet lesz:
Csak a nemzeti szövetségek jóváhagyása mellett kerül sor WTC versenyre, legyen az Ironman, 5i50 vagy bármilyen triatlon, duatlon vagy multisport verseny.

Dear President and Secretary General,
I hope this letter finds you well. As many of you have likely heard, ITU recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Triathlon Corporation (Ironman). This agreement represents an important step forward in the recognition of ITU as the sole governing body for the sport of triathlon worldwide.
Following this MOU, I am pleased to share more details with you in regards to next steps. The agreement reached includes three main areas:
1. Anti-doping: ITU will become the only WADA Code signatory for the sport of Triathlon. Ironman will keep its anti-doping program that is recognised by WADA, but under the ITU umbrella.
2. Sanctioning events: ITU will sanction international Ironman events in accordance with the ITU Sanctioning document (Click here to view the document). The process of sanctioning events will start this year with 1-2 events, with the goal to incorporate the rest in coming years.
3. Relationship with ITU National Federations: All sanctioned Ironman events will need to have the involvement of the National Federation. We are therefore working to create a framework that will form the basis of this agreement, which will be distributed to all NFs.
